| Grooming
Procedures:
Before The Bath:
Each pet is thoroughly brushed and combed out and examined for fleas,
ticks, sores, etc. Ears filled with hair are plucked and cleaned
with a medicated ear solution. Toenails are cut and filed. Close
clipper work is done. Groin area is shaved clean. Faces and feet
are shaved, and patterns are set.
The Bath:
A shampoo is selected based on coat and skin conditions. The anal
glands are expressed before the dog is bathed. The first shampoo
is to remove excess dirt. A second shampoo is selected based on
the coat and skin condition. A conditioner or finishing rinse is
routinely used on many breeds. The mouth is checked and teeth are
brushed with a pet toothpaste, for dogs and cats. (if pet permits
it)
After the Bath:
The excess water is blown off the pet, and then they are allowed
to cage dry with a warmer air circulated dryer. After drying, the
finishing work is done, (patterns are gone over again, scissoring
is completed. Then bows or bandannas and a scented mist is given
for finishing touches).
Maintenance Program:
All Tails Wag will set up your pets next appointment from 2-12 weeks.
We will then send a reminder card about one week prior to your previously
scheduled appointment. If you haven't made your appointment at your
pets last grooming date, a reminder will be sent for you to call
and schedule your grooming date.
*NOTE*: Weekly appointments can be set up, however there
will be no reminder with a weekly schedule. Keep in mind, we are
very busy and it could take 2-3 weeks to get in. This is why this
program was designed. We do keep a waiting list of pets trying to
get in. So given enough notice when you are able to make your appointment
(24 hours is suggested) we can substitute. Without notice we regretfully
have to charge for missed appointments.
A Final Note:
We will never take it upon ourselves to sedate an animal under any
circumstances. If we should come across a pet that is too unruly
to work with, we will request that you come and stay with him/her.
We very rarely have these problems, the pets we encounter seem to
sense that we know what we are doing. More often than not, they
seem to enjoy the primping. If they have had bad experiences with
another groomer in the past, they soon learn that we will not hurt
them and a mutual bond and respect return and they start feeling
more secure.
Grooming hours will be
Monday Cats only 8am till done
Tuesday through Friday 8 AM till 6 PM
Saturday (every other) 8 AM till Done
Sunday & Holidays Closed
